Capital Mall Competition, Washington DC
1/32″ Interior Atrium Model that was part of a competition for a city block in Washington D.C., later named the Ronald Reagan Building.
Several models were made for the submission package. The interior model was important to show how the building’s atrium would attract the building’s workers and pedestrians.
The model was constructed of custom milled basswood armature clad with laser scored Plexiglas curtain walls. The model also incorporates Plexiglas curtain walls on the podium base to view the interior.
The model was built for the final design submission.
